TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Parkside Guest House sells all rooms to all customers subject to these terms.

1. Reservation

You may only guarantee your room when booking on-line by giving card details for the first nights charge when making the reservation. Card payments by Visa, Mastercard, Delta & JCB are acceptable, (Maestro or Solo/Electron cards are NOT acceptable for on-line or telephone bookings). 

Telephone and walk-in bookings may be made by giving card details (as above) and contact information, without advance payment.

Cheques are no longer acceptable. Cash payments are accepted.

You may make a booking on someone else's behalf. You are responsible for ensuring that any customer in your booking complies with these terms as if that customer had made the booking.

If you are guaranteeing a reservation for someone who does not offer a credit or debit card upon arrival you accept financial liability for breach of these terms.

Group Bookings

If there are 5 persons or more in a party this is deemed a large group and is subject to a deposit payment of 1/3 of the total charge to secure a reservation. The payment MUST be from the group organiser. Upon deposit payment we will send confirmation by letter to the address given.

We also enclose a form (to be returned by SAE) to acknowledge receipt of the confirmation and agreement to these Terms & Conditions in a Group Booking Bond. The contract is not secure until this form is returned. If no return is made we reserve the right to cancel the contract.

The group must also agree to stand a security of £50 per person in cash  towards losses due to breach of these terms and conditions.

All larger group bookings made between Easter and end of September must be minimum 2 nights at weekends.


2. Rates & Payment

The rates are on a per person basis as published on our website (and on display in the premises) at the time of booking, or, in the case of telephone or email booking as advised to you at that time.

We reserve the right to alter room rates at any time. All confirmed and guaranteed bookings will be held at the rate agreed earlier.

We will surcharge the 'per person rate' by £5 per night on bank holiday weekends and possibly more on special occasions where high demand is expected.

All payments must be in cash on arrival.

You must also provide a £50 cash deposit per room if you are paying with cash for a walk-in booking at any time. This is to cover us against losses due to breach of these terms and conditions and is refundable on departure.

All payments due must be settled on arrival if not paid earlier.


3. Cancellation or Change

If you need to cancel or change your reservation please do so before 1pm on the arrival date as we reserve the right after then, to charge 1 nights stay per booking.

Cancellations made before 1pm on the day of arrival will receive a full refund of any payments made.

We will only refund to cards used for payments towards the booking.

If you fail to show up on the arrival date without prior arrangement of late arrival you are liable for the full cost of the 1st nights booking after 6pm.

Group Bookings

If you cancel your group booking or reduce the number of nights or the number of rooms required within 2 weeks before arrival date no refunds of deposits can be made. If changes notified to us before 1 week prior to arrival result in a reduction in the number of rooms required we will reduce the balancing payment by negotiation at that time.


4. Rooms

We can provide a cot at no extra charge.

Pets are not permitted.

You will not leave children unattended on the premises at any time.

You will inform us if you intend for visitors to enter the premises. Visitors must leave by 10.00pm.

If they do not they will be considered as unpaid guests and you will be charged for them on the same per person rate.

It is illegal to smoke within our premises.

If you smoke or interfere with our fire detection system we may terminate your booking without refund and require you to leave the premises immediately.

You authorise us to charge you (or the group bondholder) a penalty of £50 per room plus any costs we incur if you smoke in our premises including specialist cleaning (to make the room/s fit for sale as a non-smoking environment) and the cost of the room/s for any time period they are unusable.

You are responsible for any damage you cause to the room or rooms allocated and fixtures and fittings within the communal areas of the premises.

If any act, default or neglect by guests or organisers results in damage, the customer (or group bondholder) shall be liable to pay to Parkside Guest House on demand the amount required to make good or remedy such damage.

In the event of wilful or negligent interruption to the business or other customers, Parkside Guest House will charge the amount of any loss to the customer (or group bondholder) and terminate the contract. Parkside Guest House will not be liable for any refund or compensation to the customer in such circumstances.

You authorise us to charge these amounts to the payment card used in your booking by completion (or forfeit) of the pre-authorisation granted on arrival. If the cost of these losses are greater than than the pre-authorised amount you will be liable for a surcharge of the difference. If the cost of these losses are less than the pre-authorised amount we will refund the balance within 10 working days.

We will send you (at the address given) a breakdown of these charges within 10 working days. We may refuse to accept bookings from you in future.

Any individual or group member found either in possession, using or distributing illegal drugs will be banned from the premises and reported to the police. The contract of the individual or the group will be terminated without refund.

The customer/group bondholder means the individual or organising body, company or organiser responsible for commissioning and payment of the event as well as any signatory of the group bond.


5. Arrival & Departure

Rooms are available from 1pm on the day of arrival. It is possible to arrive earlier and leave baggage (which we will keep securely) until later when rooms are ready.

Also, baggage may be left after departure times for secure storage and collection at a later time to be arranged.

Please inform us if you cannot arrive until after 6pm.

Your room must be vacated by 10.30am on the day of departure.

All keys must be left either with the manager or deposited in the 'Key Drop' box on departure. Keys not returned will incur a replacement charge of £20 per set.

Group Bookings

Your rooms must be vacated by 10.30am on a weekday of departure and by 12.00 noon on a Sunday departure.


6. Breakfast

Light breakfast is included in all but larger group bookings. Light breakfast consists of cereal, toast, fruit, yoghurt, orange juice, tea or coffee. Cooked breakfast by arrangement on arrival.

Full English breakfast is optional and charged extra at time of booking. Full English breakfast consists of the above plus bacon, egg, hash brown, sausage and beans. Mushrooms and tomato (or special dietary requirements) may be added or arranged by request.

Breakfast is served from 7.00 to 10.00am.


7. Car Parking

There is availability for up to 5 cars to park.

It is offered on a first come, first served basis. There are no parking charges or restrictions for parking in Southcote Road or surrounding streets.

Parkside Guest House accept no liability for loss or damage to cars left on the forecourt or property within them.


8. General

Statutory Rights. We aim to ensure that any rights that you as a consumer have that are implied by law into a contract of this type (statutory rights) are not excluded or limited in any way. If any of these terms conflict with a statutory right or the law changes and your statutory rights change, then the statutory rights will prevail over these terms.

Parkside Guest House do not accept liability for any failure to provide services contracted due to circumstances beyond our control including industrial action, postal communication, supply of gas, electricity, water or fire alarm evacuation.

Liability to loss or damage to guest' property is subject to the Hotel Proprietors Act 1956.
